Craftsman-style homes were primarily inspired by the work of two architect brothers at the turn of the 20th century. The Greene brothers were influenced by the English artistic movement (a reaction against the industrial revolution with the aim of promoting artisan and handmade work), as well as by oriental wooden architecture.
